Jon Trenge made sure he worked harder than any wrestling teammate he had at Parkland or Lehigh. He knew he had to if he wanted to achieve his lofty goals.

He was a three-time All-American at Lehigh but never won a national title. He never made the Olympics, finishing fifth at the 2004 trials.
Former Lehigh head coach Greg Strobel gave Trenge perspective on his perceived shortcomings as a wrestler.
“I never won a national title and that bothered me so bad,” Trenge, now 38, admitted.
“Sometimes, it’s not meant to be.
“Strobel said that destined me to be a better coach because when you win, when you achieve your goal, you think everyone is going to achieve their goals. Most don’t.”
After serving as an assistant at his high school and college alma maters and working with inner-city youth programs and area girls trying to make it in the sport, Trenge is ready to test Strobe’s theory.
